On July 31st in 1908 my grandmother Jessie Mae Watson (married name Carel) was born in Texas. She was a wonderful person and was loved by family and all those who met her. I could not say grandma so from the time I could talk to this day, I affectionately
called her Nanny. In 1978 I was privileged to be with her when she took her last breath and left this home to go to her Heavenly home. So Happy Birthday Nanny, I love you.
July 31st
On July 31st 1981 my second Father (Robert McKenzie) was killed on the job while helping to unload materials on a truck from a large crane. He was about to do yet another Salvage Job for the Navy (He was a retired Master Diver from the Navy). You came into my life when you decided that mother was the one for you and with that 3 children whom you loved and cared for. Then you and mother had 2 wonderful daughters which completed out little family. You left too early in our lives but God must have had need of you.
July 31st is a day of Birth and Death but it is also a day of remembering those we have loved who God has called home. When God calls us, when we have finished our work, those we love will be there to greet us and they will say….Welcome Home.
Love to you both, and all those that are waiting for us to come home.
Janie
